Ways to Give

BGC removes barriers to opportunity, providing safe spaces where young people can build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Every day, children and youth in Strathcona County walk through our doors looking for connection, safety, support, and opportunity. Your support helps ensure no young person is turned away from experiences that can impact their life in the most incredible ways. These young people are finding mentorship, positive friendships, healthy meals, creativity and fun, and access to programming and resources that help them build skills for life.

To continue supporting children and youth, and expand our services and resources for families in Strathcona County, we need support from our partners, friends and neighbours. There are so many ways you can help, and we are grateful for our growing community.

Help lift up our community’s children and youth.

BGC Wish List & In-Kind Gifts

BGC Strathcona County serves hundreds of children and youth each day, and we need a lot of materials, supplies and resources to make that happen. There are some things we go through quickly and constantly restock, and others we can use for an entire season or more.

Donated items, even small donations, help us keep those resources stocked. It saves us money and allows us to continue to fund and improve  our programming. It also saves us time, which means our team can give more focus on running the programming and supporting young people in our community!

Here are things we always need:

Healthy snacks: BGC Clubs provide nourishment to kids every day. We are always looking for snacks like yogurt, granola bars, juice boxes, fruit cups, fruit leather, cheese strings, fruit and vegetables, etc.

Craft and school supplies: Washable Crayola markers, kid-friendly paint and paint brushes, Elmer’s glue sticks and white glue, coloured construction paper, craft kits, etc.

Cleaning supplies: Disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, multi-purpose cleaners, dish soap and dishwasher detergent.

Books: New or gently used picture books, readers, starter and junior novels, and appropriate teen literature.

Sports equipment: Sports balls (soccer, basketball, volleyball, football), baseball bats and mitts, floor/street hockey sticks, and outdoor games.

Baking and Cooking Ingredients: We offer a weekly Master Chef Program and run a concession and food-based programs at the CanTEEN. We always need supplies!
