The Orange Door Project: Support BGC Strathcona County at the Home Depot this spring!

Every young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and connected. While Strathcona County is often seen as a thriving community, many local children, youth, and families continue to face barriers behind closed doors. We work with children and youth whose families might face financial hardship, isolation, mental health struggles, food insecurity, and unstable housing situations.

BGC Strathcona County is there to provide support, resources and a safe space.

From May 12 to June 14, The Home Depot Canada Foundation is running its annual Orange Door Project campaign to help prevent and end youth homelessness across Canada.

You can donate at the checkout at our local Home Depot in Sherwood Park, and 100% of the funds raised will go to BGC Strathcona County.

You can also donate online. Be sure to choose the Sherwood Park Home Depot in the drop-down menu.

Providing opportunities and building brighter futures

The campaign raises critical funding for programs and supports that help young people build stability, confidence, belonging, and brighter futures. It runs at Home Depot locations across the country, benefiting youth-serving organizations like ours and ensuring funds stay right in those local communities.

Across Canada, more than 35,000 youth experience homelessness each year, and many more face challenges that place them at risk. Through mentorship, safe spaces, positive relationships, and accessible programs, organizations like BGC work to ensure young people have the support they need before they reach a crisis point.

We are incredibly grateful to be a local partner in this initiative and thankful for The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s ongoing commitment to youth and families in Strathcona County.

Join us at Home Depot on June 14!

On Saturday, June 14, the BGC Strathcona County team will be on-site at the Sherwood Park Home Depot with family-friendly activities, information about our programs, and opportunities for the community to connect with us.

  • Time: 10 am – 3 pm
  • Location: Home Depot ( 390 Baseline Rd #200)

We invite you to stop by, say hello, do some kids’ activities, and learn more about the important work BGC Strathcona County is doing right here at home.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting the Orange Door Project campaign this spring and helping ensure every young person in our community has the opportunity to thrive.
